The IAMCP currently has 38 chapters in the United States and over 100 chapters globally, representing the biggest coalition of Microsoft Partners in the world. While the IAMCP is still a young organization, companies of all sizes are joining and sharing in the benefits of a Microsoft Partner-focused business development community.

Making the Most of Your IAMCP Membership

IAMCP memberships offer access to industry-leading talent and opportunities in the Microsoft ecosystem, but joining is only the first step. Members find that taking several specific actions after joining helps push the value of their membership:

• Attend meetings frequently. A primary value of IAMCP membership is networking, and the best way to start developing these connections is to attend meetings (either in-person or virtually) to meet others who may benefit from a potential partnership.
• Be proactive with relationships. Don’t wait for others to make the first move. Connect with others at each IAMCP meeting and start building one-on-one relationships. This is the quickest way to build partnerships of mutual value.
• Draft an effective “elevator pitch.” Make it easy for others to understand what value you bring to the table. You’ll boost the strength of your networking by creating a 20-30-second elevator pitch that helps others understand where your company fits in to their own service delivery models.

To this end, Microsoft has launched the Nonprofit Tech Acceleration (NTA) for Black and African American Communities program, which increases technology support for nonprofits that support people of color. The range of services includes anything from technology upgrades to full digital transformations, plus the consulting and implementation support needed to be successful. As one of the support partners in this program, we are excited to contribute our services to such a worthy cause.

The depth and breadth of the support nonprofits can receive through the NTA program is largely based on their needs—examples include free Azure subscriptions, a collaboration tool suite that has their organization communicating on a single platform, or the help of a local partner who can guide them through whatever technology solution they are seeking.

If you are interested in learning more about the NTA program, the first step is to send the registration link to your nonprofit organization. Once they have registered, a representative will contact them to explore the opportunity to accelerate their technology solutions—ultimately, so they can spend less time on technology and more time on their mission.

Ishan Mistry has been awarded the $2500 scholarship this year. His major will be in Computer Science at UT-Austin. He attends Ranchview High School in Irving Texas where he is in the International Baccalaureate Program, Captain of the varsity Swim Team, Member of the varsity Tennis Team and a member of the Symphonic Orchestra.  His parents are Sharon and Nilesh Mistry. Nilesh has been a member of the IAMCP Dallas chapter since 2013 and works in IT Management for Parablu.

After a year of proven success of our US Town Hall meetings, we are excited to announce that we are opening our doors wider and inviting ALL US IAMCP Members to our monthly meetings.

These meetings allow members a chance to share with other members any questions that pertain to their Microsoft practice in an open Town Hall forum where meeting leaders, other IAMCP members, and guests can assist in answering.
