Investing in the skills of tomorrow

To address the need for a high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) workforce, IAMCP US developed a STEM Scholarship Program. Its objective is to benefit the children of IAMCP members who are pursuing associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Recognizing that financial aid alone cannot increase retention and graduation in STEM, the program encourages IAMCP partners to foster and promote the principles of STEM amongst their employees and their children, local businesses and industry to continue to grow and support our IT community.

Thus far only a U.S. initiative, the IAMCP encourages other regions to implement a similar program, to ensure the fostering of STEM education across the globe, and make STEM careers attainable for the youth of our future.

Why Is It Important?

By fostering an interest in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields for students, our communities will continue growing and producing skilled workers who bring new thinking and innovation to our lives.

The program seeks to:

  • Provide a benefit to IAMCP members by providing financial aid to their children who have demonstrated enrollment in obtaining degrees in STEM and entering the workforce or graduate programs in STEM;
  • Improve the education of future scientists, engineers, and technicians, with a focus on academically qualified students; and,
  • Generate knowledge to advance understanding of how factors or evidence-based curricular and co-curricular activities affect the success, retention, transfer, academic/career pathways, and graduation in STEM.

The STEM disciplines supported by the STEM program

  • Biological sciences (except medicine and other clinical fields);
  • Physical sciences (including physics, chemistry, astronomy, and materials science);
  • Mathematical sciences;
  • Computer and information sciences;
  • Geosciences;
  • Engineering;
  • Technology areas associated with the preceding disciplines (for example, biotechnology, chemical technology, engineering technology, information technology, etc.)

Donate and inspire innovation
