What is IAMCP?

IAMCP is a professional association dedicated to assisting members to developing and growing their businesses. The association is organized in chapters who drive activities aimed at helping people and companies in the "Microsoft ecosystem” broaden their base of business opportunities within their own communities and around the world through partnering with other IAMCP members.

Business development and higher bottom line profit are our goals.

Should I join IAMCP?

Joining IAMCP is a great opportunity to collaborate with likeminded partners to:

  • Work together on customer projects
  • Have a voice into Microsoft programs
  • Have a united voice to the trade press and the IT community at large
  • Be part of a global/local vehicle that facilitates mutual growth and business development among partners.

The members of IAMCP foster personal relationships that generate business opportunities. Whether you are an infrastructure partner, ISV partner, training partner, Cloud partner, licensing/reseller partner, marketing agency partner, or Dynamics partner, our membership offers opportunity. There are a variety of non-competitive product and service providers with whom you can partner to offer a portfolio of solutions and extend your capability with your customers.

In addition to amazing networking and partnership opportunities, IAMCP offers educational events in support of partner readiness.

Since your IAMCP chapter works closely with the local Microsoft Office, IAMCP provides a great opportunity for companies who don’t have a direct relationship with Microsoft.

What do I have to do to join IAMCP?

Membership is open to any one enrolled in the Microsoft Partner Network or the Microsoft BizSpark Program.

From there it’s a matter of agreeing to respect the privacy of their fellow members. Members may not in any way distribute, publish, reproduce, or inappropriately use any information in the IAMCP Membership directory profiles. Members may not distribute the IAMCP Membership directory or any information in the Directory to non-members. Check out the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for more details.

What types of membership are available and how much does it cost to join?

There are three types of membership:

Corporate Members must be Microsoft Channel Partners. They should be an owner, principal, officer, or other key decision maker with contract signing authority. Corporate members will exercise their company's association vote. Each company in IAMCP may have only one corporate member. Fees vary by country and currency, please contact your local chapter for pricing details or consider becoming a Member at Large (see below for details).

Associate Members must be employed full-time by a Microsoft Channel Partner. Their company doesn't need to be a Corporate Member for them to join IAMCP. Associate members do not have an Association vote, however, they can be voted onto the local Board of Directors by the corporate members in a chapter. Once elected they have a positional vote only on the Board. An Associate Membership fees vary by location, please contact your local chapter for more details.

Affiliate Members must own or be employed full-time by a Microsoft Action Pack Subscription Partner. Affiliate Membership fees vary by location, please contact your local chapter for details.

How often do chapters meet?

Most chapters host a meeting once a month.

Where can I find details on chapters?

The best place to locate chapters is to use our Chapter Search

What happens if there's no chapter in my city/country?

You have two choices:

1. You can help start a chapter with the help of the IAMCP Business Office and your local Microsoft representative;

2. You can join IAMCP as a "Member-at-Large"(Int’l or US).

What's a Member-at-Large?

Members at large live in areas without a local chapter. Joining at this level offers the member benefits including rights to the private section of the IAMCP website, the database of partners and sponsor benefits, and also access to IAMCP online events and at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference.

Do I have to be a member to attend a local chapter meeting?

Most chapters allow you to attend a meeting or two as a guest to explore the possibilities of membership. Check with your local chapter for more details.

What is the expected time commitment of members?

Members typically are involved 2-4 hours per month. Most chapters host a meeting each month and you'll have some email correspondence for Partner 2 Partner or local involvement opportunities.

If you volunteer to participate on a committee, you may have an additional 2-10 hours each month depending on the area you choose.

Can I try it out before making a commitment to join IAMCP?

If you're unsure, please feel free to come to one of our local chapter meetings as a guest. There, you'll get to meet other members, learn about their current activities and connect with Microsoft. Most events are held at a Microsoft office. If you don't find value, you'll have no pressure to join.
