Regional Update (EMEA) - 'Ask IAMCP' Webinar (20th November)

Have you marked your calendar for the upcoming webinar, “How to transform successfully with Microsoft?” This webinar on 20th November at 4:00PM GMT will delve into the key partner learnings and transformations drawn from 40 partner interviews across 19 countries. Partner survey results will be assessed and shared to show how partners’ business models are changing to ensure successful transformation with Microsoft. Register here

Update from Sergio Baptista, President of IAMCP EMEA
We are piloting a project together with Microsoft CPE (Customer and Partner Experience). It started in Spain and we are also addressing Portugal at this point.

Due to the change to the OCP model and the disappearance of the PSE role, a couple of things have happened:

  • There is no longer an overall person responsible for a partner to proactively or reactively help with all issues relating to Microsoft. A PDM´s role is limited to build with.

  • Other partners that are not ´managed´ or do not have an assigned PDM, in many cases don’t know where to go for what.

  • Microsoft has moved to more of a self-service model for partners without (re) designing some of the underlying processes and partner ´interfaces´.

  • IAMCP with its members is a reasonable representation of the current partner business models in the market.

  • CPE is Customer and PARTNER experience.

We agreed to do the following:

  • Work on a longlist of issues the IAMCP partners currently have in their engagement with Microsoft.

  • Classify these issues in a matrix with on one axis impact if solved, and on the other, complexity to solve.

  • Attack the issues based on agreed priorities and quick wins

  • Create a working team between CPE, OCP and IAMCP to work on this.

Regional Update (INDIA)

The IAMCP India West held its monthly meeting with members, discussing its strategic agenda. This included running through key announcements, Microsoft directions 2019 and other important messages made by Microsoft at the recently concluded Inspire 2018 in Las Vegas. After the initial introduction by Chetan Shah, Suresh Ramani, President IAMCP India, spoke on the topic and provided an overview of Microsoft’s focus in the coming year and ahead.

Ramani also conducted a tutorial for members on best practices for winning an award at the next Microsoft Inspire event for high quality solutions deployed at customers. Ramani’s company has won awards multiple times in the past from Microsoft and IAMCP. He spoke about insights into award application, supporting documents, other add-ons, and ancilliary efforts needed to make an impact.

IAMCP is the world’s largest association of Microsoft channel partners and runs many chapters across India. IAMCP India membership has been delivering incremental value to its members’ Microsoft partnerships.

Other award winners include Munesh Jadoun, who heads IAMCP India North.

Inspire 2018

Microsoft Inspire was a great week of learning, networking, and celebrating our partnership. With over 18,000 attendees from 132 countries, this was our biggest Microsoft Inspire ever! It was also the first conference to be co-located with Microsoft Ready, bringing partners and employees together in unprecedented numbers to unite behind a single strategic direction. The co-location made it possible to have shared area and segment general sessions, a Corenote in which Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella addressed the entire Microsoft community, and our One Celebration, a fabulous night of entertainment and camaraderie.

On July 16th, thousands of Microsoft partners and employees occupied the T-Mobile Arena to hear Microsoft’s senior leaders discuss the ways in which companies around the world are transforming their businesses through the power of partnership and Microsoft technologies. We learned about an increased focus in FY19 on industry-specific solutions, new strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention, and enhanced training and readiness opportunities. In addition, we heard from Brad Smith, Microsoft President and Chief Legal Officer, who presented at the IAMCP Executive Roundtable meetings that day.

12 International Partners Joined at the Booth During Inspire!

The IAMCP booth at Inspire was a busy place and served as the hub for IAMCP. We scanned 399 badges of members and non-members throughout the conference. 148 international Microsoft Partners visited the booth, 37 were already IAMCP members; 111 are prospective members. How many of the prospects have already joined your chapter? Follow up with them again, to see if they are ready to join a local chapter.
