IAMCP Communicator
                                                            February 2018 Edition

Welcome from Jon Sastre (President, IAMCP International)

Dear IAMCP Colleagues,

As the incoming president of the IAMCP, it is my pleasure to welcome you to this edition of the newsletter. I would like to thank Javier Abreu, now in the position of past president, for his work over the last year in supporting and growing this organization. We have new people representing the regions and committees on the international board and I encourage you to review who is working on your behalf and to get involved.

I am very excited about the prospects for IAMCP. To capitalize on those opportunities, the board is working on key goals. Plans for the next year include integration of the organization’s websites and a global directory of members to further P2P business. We are looking at rebranding to a friendlier (and shorter name) and working more closely with the new One Microsoft organization structure to improve field engagement and chapter alignment. Personally, I am energized by these initiatives amplifying the power of partnerships. I look forward to working with you this year. Get engaged and be involved in your local chapters to get the most of what this great organization has to offer.

Jon Sastre
President, IAMCP International

IAMCP UK Connects with New Members at Microsoft Partner Days

The IAMCP UK team enjoyed meeting current members and other UK channel partners at the recent Microsoft UK Partner days on the 5th and 6th February at Twickenham Stadium.   As part of Microsoft’s brand-new UK partner headline event series, Microsoft UK Partner Days is a two-day event that equips partners with the insight, skills and connections to lead customers through their digital transformations.

IAMCP UK was delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor this exciting event. Delegates were able to chat informally about the benefits of IAMCP membership during the expo which ran around the packed schedule of planned sessions.

IAMCP UK made connections with 24 organisations keen to join IAMCP, and a number signed up on the day.

Julie Simpson, IAMCP UK Chapter President:

‘IAMCP helps Microsoft partners collaborate to drive accelerated growth through unique connections with Microsoft.  We were thrilled to see many existing members at the event and meet so many new partners who have subsequently joined our IAMCP UK community.’

IAMCP WIT Update - Haiti Conference

Since announcing plans to support a women’s conference in Haiti at last year’s Inspire, a lot has happened. For the latest, check out this short video by Gail Mercer-MacKay. Below are the highlights.

There are three streams as part of the effort: the conference itself, sponsoring deserving women to continue their education, and developing computer skills in a new lab. Keep reading to find out how to help:

  • On August 11th, 2018, a one-day conference will be educating 100 young girls about possibilities and options available in STEM. Specialized volunteers are required. If you are interested, email Gail Mercer-MacKay or Shann McGrail for details.
  • There are 25 Haitian women whose education has stalled because they do not have the required finances. IAMCP and IAMCP WIT want to make their dreams possible and we need your help. As a community, or as individuals, we would love to see you come together and sponsor one of these deserving women. Find out more about each of them and how to sponsor at Go Fund Me (search on IAMCP). More profiles are being added every day!
  • A new computer lab is being installed and is in need of some new technology. Microsoft has graciously donated software and the lab is looking for other software to further the students' education. In addition, the hope is to secure funds for a teacher at the lab.
