Microsoft Ignite 2020 Wrap-up with some of the key highlights and the MS vision moving forward
Microsoft Ignite took place over three days last week, from September 22-24, with the theme of empowering businesses to build resilience for today and what’s ahead.
And, as always, Microsoft didn’t disappoint. From CEO, Satya Nadella’s, inspiring keynote address, Building Digital Resilience, to the broad range of sessions from which to choose and the Connection Zone that became instantly popular during Microsoft Inspire in July, the event was packed with exciting innovations.
“The case for digital transformation has never been more urgent. By harnessing the power of digital technology together, I believe there’s no limit to what we can achieve for the world.” – Satya Nadella
As the world almost ground to a complete halt, technology innovations have increased to the point where we are now seeing years of digital transformation in mere months.
Satya discussed the power of MS technology and cited how it is helping companies across a wide spectrum of sectors, such as: retail shipping, spacecraft development, remote education, healthcare, sports entertainment, retail customer experience, supply chain management, manufacturing and security.
Teamwork through teams has made infinitely more powerful through a myriad of Teams enhancements, which make meetings easier and reduce meeting fatigue.
One such enhancement is Together Mode, which fosters employee well-being, by scheduling breaks and helping employees to optimize them. In addition, the practice of meditation is encouraged to enhance mindfulness in all areas of life.
You can learn more about the full scope of features enhancements on the Official Microsoft Blog.
Two significant announcements were also made during Satya’s address:
- Microsoft is bringing Edge to Linux in October. It can now be used across every platform, so that every person has access to the enhanced security protection offered through Edge.
- Microsoft is committed to being water-positive by 2030, meaning that the organization will replenish more water than it uses across the business as part of its dedication to the planet.
