IAMCP and Directions EMEA – Moving Partner Relationships Forward
Monday, October 21, 2019
For the very first time, the IAMCP was a community partner to Directions EMEA, an SMB-focused Dynamics Partner conference and popular networking and knowledge-sharing event that took place in Vienna, Austria, last week.
With over 2,300 attendees, and another 10% growth in attendance, Directions EMEA offered great speakers and sessions and a full agenda of networking and learning. The partnership between Directions and IAMCP was forged to support the Directions EMEA Community in reaping the opportunities that await outside the Business Central ecosystem, as well as to align strategies across Microsoft partner channels.
IAMCP had a booth, which attracted a great deal of attention amongst conference visitors. We had inquiries from all over the globe about why and how they can join: from UK, Denmark, US, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Kenya, Cyprus, and more. We hope to see more new members from those countries in the near future.
Our existing members garnered quite a bit of attention at the conference. IAMCP president, Sergio Baptista, talked about the importance of collaboration, explaining how P2P is the enablement of Microsoft partners to collaborate across the three clouds and priority industries to deliver even greater value to mutual customers, including the ability for partners to:
- Find other partners to build joint solutions and/or offers
- Find other partners to accelerate customer acquisition
- Collaborate & integrate into the Commerce platform
Said Sergio, “At IAMCP we create the momentum for success through our P2P (partner-to-partner) program at local, regional and international events, and through work groups that focus on specific technology trends or industry models.”
The IAMCP’s commitment is to help partners build and sustain successful partnerships that accelerate their businesses, unlock opportunities and drive digital transformation both for themselves and their customers.
Our Danish members made a splash too: Antonio Bibovski of Insight Office, delivering his session on the advanced use of email.
And we’re excited to spread the most recent news - Insight Office's Ant Text email solution has just been announced a Finalist for Best Overall App at Microsoft Office App Award 2019!
Congratulations to Antonio and his team!
Steen Helmer of TBK Consult, a member of the Denmark chapter, talked about how to build P2P cooperation with other MSFT partners and shared his ”step-by-step formula“ for partnership success.
“Partnering successfully starts with defining both your value as a business and your goals,“ said Helmer, providing plenty of useful suggestions on the steps partners need to take to engage with one another in a structured way.
Then our diversity and inclusion advisor, Rina Goldenberg Lynch of Voice At The Table, delivered an interesting presentation on how to include D&I into a company success strategy. Talking about the importance of the D&I aspect in today’s business, Rina shared global trends and inspiring case studies.
Said Goldenberg Lynch, “To get started, first you need to identify the missing diversity type, then how to attract it, and what it needs to flourish.”
Finally, three of our European chapters had their local roundtables: Germany, Italy, and Denmark, where they discussed how can they improve their engagement and practices, respectively.
“We discussed the consulting challenges, spreading into international markets, we set up an Appsource workshop, formed a small partner / freelance group, and more. I’m proud to be a part of such an active chapter”, said Klaus Fander from IAMCP Germany, CEO of acadon and IAMCP International Board treasurer.
Of course, the IAMCP strengthened its community spirit at the Directions EMEA party, because everyone knows that’s where real networking happens.
In summary, it was a great event and we loved how Sergio described his experience:
“I have spent the last week at Directions EMEA, in Vienna. No, no… not “spent” –
I N V E S T E D. I had the opportunity to discuss with partners from every country in Europe, as well as from Kenya, South Africa, the US, and many more, the benefits of our network. ‘What is the value of IAMCP for a Partner?’ Partner to Partner Networking, Advocacy, Community and Education. This is what we offer. The value is what you can grasp from it”.
