Why Sustainable IT? 

Justin Sutton-Parker (Director, Northern Europe, at Citrix) discusses the impact of IT on global GHG emissions and highlights how for 4 Simple IT Sustainability Strategies plus innovative quantification can help you to build a sustainability strategy that will contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and ultimately support the fight against climate change.

About the Presenter:

Justin Sutton-Parker is an information technology sustainability professional with over 25 years of experience. Currently several years into PhD research with the University of Warwick, Justin specialises in the impact of IT on global greenhouse gas emissions. As a director with Citrix, a world leader in cloud computing and flexible working, Justin conceived, designed and continues to execute the organisation’s global sustainability strategy.

Non-executive roles include founder and head of environmental research for PX3, an IT sustainability consultancy working with commercial and public sector organisations to reduce IT related GHG emissions. Plus, sustainable technology columnist for the UK’s leading sustainable and ethical news, products and lifestyle magazine My Green Pod, the Guardian supplement, highlighting the role IT can play in slowing global warming and tackling climate change.

A regular international sustainability speaker, published researcher and presenter, Justin has a personal life goal to: ‘Remove the greenhouse gas equivalent of 100,000 cars from the atmosphere by 2050 through the diffusion of sustainable IT.’
