Frequently Asked Questions about IAMCP- Minneapolis / St Paul
1) How do I contact the Chapter?
Officers as of April 2007 include: Mike Schwantes, President; Kathy Northamer, Membership Chair; Greg Fair, Treasurer; Brandy Favilla, Program Chair; Rick Flath, Member at Large; Ken Meyer, Past President. Find us under members, and contact us through the email or phones listed there.
2) Is this a new Chapter? What about the "Polar Chapter"?
This is the same chapter, just working with a new, geographic based name. The Polar Chapter was formed in 1994 and joined with the Dallas Chapter to create the National Association of Solution Providers, which evolved into the IAMCP as membership grew outside the United States.
3) When and where are meetings?
We're in a transition period, trying new things. Look at the events tab for the latest meeting information. In past years, meetings were held at 8:30 am on the fourth Friday of the month at the Microsoft's Bloomington, MN offices, except in November and December when we avoid Thanksgiving and end of year holidays, and in July, when we just take a break. For some of the months, we're skipping a separate meeting and going to the North Central District Quarterly Partner briefing.

4) What about membership?
We are a chapter of the IAMCP and follow their rules for membership. There are Corporate, Associate and Affiliate Membership categories.
What is the difference between Corporate, Associate and Affiliate Membership?
All IAMCP members must be, or must be employed by, a Microsoft Certified Partner, a Microsoft Business Solution Provider or a Registered Partner.
Corporate Members must be Microsoft Certified Partners. The Corporate Member should be an owner, principal, officer, or other key decision maker with contract signing authority. He or she will exercise their company's Association vote. A Corporate Membership is $195.
Associate Members must be employed full-time by a Microsoft Certified Partner. Their company doesn't need to be a Corporate Member for them to join IAMCP. An Associate member can be voted onto the local Board of Directors by the Corporate members in the local chapter but he can't vote for himself. Once on the Board he now has a positional vote so he's a voting member of the Board of Directors. An Associate Membership is $125.
Affiliate Members must own or be employed full-time by a Microsoft Registered Partner. An Affiliate Membership is $125.
