Don't Miss the Day of Giving - Sunday, 10 July, 2pm

For the first time in WPC history, the IAMCP is the proud sponsor of Day of Giving and we need your help to support this event taking place on Sunday, 10 July, at Gilbert Lindsey Park (near the LA Convention Center) from 2 pm. There will be a plethora of activities taking place around the Day of Giving, including a complete street fair. IAMCP's commitment is to pack 800 backpacks with supplies to support the children's charity, OneXOne.

This needs only a couple of hour of your time to 'give back' to the local youth of LA during your attendance at WPC. Some of the children supported by this charity will also be present, getting hands on with us to stuff backpacks for them to either take home or for the items to be shipped to Japan or other locations. What next? We need 100 volunteers. Please complete the attached form or register your interest by emailing: dayofgiving@iamcp.org.

Join the excitement for one of the most formidable events taking place outside of the WPC agenda!

Nigel Postings Executive Roundtable: "Marketing in the Digital World"

Nigel Postings (Global Thru-Partner Marketing Manager for Microsoft WPC) is keen to meet with IAMCP members to discuss current partner marketing initiatives including the MPN portal sales tools, and marketing automation resources that might be available to partners, new initiatives, and to have some discussions around Microsoft's FY12 strategy and future roadmap. In addition there will be an opportunity for a general FAQ session.

This roundtable event follows on from the extremely successful series started with Nigel in the UK (this will be the fourth). This time it seemed logical to open up the event to a wider geographical audience and canvas input from partners in other regions. Past experience has shown these session to be very popular, very interesting and engaging and of exceptional value to partners. Without exception everyone rated the sessions extremely highly. Come and hear what Microsoft is planning for partners across marketing. Interactive session on what you need to support your business to go to market. Location: LACC 510 from 11:15 am-12:30. RSVP to this Executive Roundtable.

Women in Technology (WIT) Luncheon (men are welcome to attend):

Currently over 150 are registered for this exclusive luncheon where you will participate in a facilitated networking session followed by a presentation from our dynamic keynote speaker, Kendra Lee. Learn how mentoring inspired Kendra's work on a daily basis, and how you can effectively adopt these outstanding methodologies into your personal and professional life.

   Wednesday, 13 July, 11:45-1:15, LACC - Petree Hall C.

Please RSVP or download the flyer.

Speed Dating for the Cloud:

The Microsoft Partner Cloud Services organization is sponsoring a structured networking event at WPC on Tuesday night, 12 July, from 6:00-8:00 pm, designed to enable cloud services vendors to meet Microsoft partners quickly and intimately, and to build valuable cloud partnerships.

Partners will be able to spend one-on-one time with cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, CA Technologies, nivio, and ARCserve, to name a few, who are offering high-margin reseller channel programs in IaaS, SaaS, and Daas. This is a great opportunity for partners who want to move into the cloud, but don't currently offer hosted services and are looking how to generate recurring monthly revenue. In addition, if a partner is already enrolled in SPLA or as an Office 365 Advisor, but not currently offering Desktop as a Service (Daas) or Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas), they may also be interested in attending. Register today.

See what we did last year!

Come see pictures

First, our theme this year was "What starts at WPC continues in your local chapter” so we hope you'll embrace this theme and pick up a summary of the vision and resources available to your local partners from Microsoft. .

  • Our IAMCP Welcome Party was a big hit!  Steve Hall, IAMCP DC President got us a prime location where we mixed, mingled and gave a parting recognition award to Allison Watson.  (see video)
  • Our membership meeting attracted over 60 IAMCP members and Per reviewed our challenges, our strengths, our future and what makes a good chapter (see the membership meeting presentation)
  • Per Werngren, Pam Salzer and Allison Watson were recognized for their special contributions over the years (see photos).  Each received an honorary lifetime membership and hearty thank you's from the IAMCP.
  • The IAMCP Delivered the MPN Value Report and the July edition of PartnerPulse to Microsoft.
  • We recognized our award-winning PAMs with a ceremony with Jon Roskill, Microsoft's new VP of WW Partner Program replacing Allison Watson.  See pictures.
  • The Microsoft Partner of the Year was our own Angel Perez from Rock Solid Technologies (interview in Spanish)
  • See our interview with Allison Watson.
  • We had interest from leaders hoping to open many new chapters including Nigeria, Ghana and Iceland
  • We had some celebrities over the week, from former US President Bill Clinton to Steve Ballmer to author David Allen and reporter Mary Jo Foley
  • The Int'l IAMCP Chapter Presidents had dinner with David Allen and Partnerpedia was kind enough to host the dinner and took photos and footage to post on the pPartnerpedia community.
  • Our social media activity was exciting throughout the show with many IAMCP members contributing to our Twitter feeds throughout the show www.twitter.com/iamcporg
  • Our sessions and roundtables on Thursday had many of our own great speakers and lots of interaction.
  • In our lounge, we registered 50 new members and spoke to hundreds of members. We even had a book signing with David Allen and Mary Jo Foley stopped by for interviews and Q&A.
  • Students2Business had an on-stage presence with Kevin Turner which was co-organized by our Elisabeth Vanderveldt.
  • Many of our IAMCP members participated in the sold-out Day of Giving in DC.

Now we begin our new year with new priorities and continued best practices. For all chapters, we hope to emphasize:

· Formalizing local events and being disciplined about their routine. New IAMCP Event Kits will be sent to 12 pilot chapters to add materials and giveaways to their events. If these are successful, we will share the best practices and possibly expand in the coming year

· Enabling even better P2P

· Using chapter best practices to their fullest. You can post or find a best practice here and even translate our entire site and documents using Microsoft Translator.
