Subject: Thank you for 6 months leading the IAMCP

Dear IAMCP Members & Supporters,

It has been a privilege to serve as Worldwide President of our great association the first half of this year. As many people might remember I did this role from Jan 2005 to Oct 2008 but I have now made a new and short round.

As a new policy for rotating the Presidency [suggested by me among others] we are now taking out the drama of electing the new President. Every half year the Presidency will rotate in a predetermined and fixed order between the regional Presidents. That means that I am now handing over to Latin America who are sending Ulises Aguilar to serve as Worldwide President for the remaining part of 2010.

Congratulations to my dear friend Ulises that is the first Worldwide President from Latin America!

During my six months this time I have been fortunate to lead a great team and I can say that this role is so wonderful and fun so sometimes I wish it was my daytime job!

To summarize the first six months I have put together this list of some things that have happened:

  • Name change to embrace the whole Channel
  • New HQ in Seattle area close to Microsoft and getting rid of old management company
  • New Executive Director hired – Ms. Kris Fuehr
  • New policy for rotating Worldwide Presidency every 6 months
  •  New website
  • Newsletter going out in a rhythm
  • Renewed our woes with Microsoft – new agreement drafted
  • PartnerPulse – a periodical feedback report to Microsoft about the temperature in the partner eco-system  An IAMCP track at WPC 2010 with more sessions than ever
  • Monthly webcasts
  • Meeting in Brussels [200 members] for Europe
  • Meeting in Sao Paulo for Latin America
  • Breakthrough in influencing The European Commission around being a voice in future Cloud regulations
  • Made Allison Watson and Pam Salzer Honorary Members in thanks for their great support over the years
  • zillions of Chapter meetings Worldwide!

I will play a supporting role in the IAMCP also in the future and concentrate on our efforts in EMEA. But I will of course also be able to spend more time on my own cloud business.

Thank you all and let's continue our great work!

Regards, Per
