About IAMCP WIT:
Consider the following facts about the Gender Gap in the Technology sector:
At the same time, smart companies understand that diversity is good for business. Gender diversity introduces innovation which fuels better business, builds stronger relationships and increases profitability. According to Catalyst, businesses with more women on the board and in leadership positions have stronger financial performance and higher returns on equity and sales.
As a result, organizations are developing policies and programs directed at hiring and nurturing female talent. Supporting creative, innovative and hardworking women in Microsoft and the Microsoft Partner Channel, is exactly what IAMCP WIT is about. We do that by:
Making a Difference:
As a community, IAMCP WIT is passionate about leveraging the power of global relationships, collaboration and networking to build a strong eco-system of women. We value diversity and foster a trusting, open and inclusive environment treating each person with respect. We believe that each of us has the power to change lives and we will use every interaction as an opportunity to make a positive impact and that includes our community involvement and volunteerism.
As proof positive, WIT communities around the globe are involved in encouraging young women to consider careers in Information Technology by dedicated time and effort to programs such as DigiGirlz, Girls Who Code, Students 2 Business (S2B) and YouthSpark.
Generous beyond time and effort, the IAMCP WIT community regularly sponsors charities dedicated to helping others. In fact, at this past Microsoft Worldwide Conference, the annual charity luncheon raised over $15,000 in support of Year Up, an organization empowering low-income young adults to go from poverty to professional careers in a single year.
“WIT has expanded my professional network and opened up opportunities for my company with partners and clients. I’ve benefited from the professional development webcasts and in person meetings, I’ve increased my support system and I’ve made some great new friends!”
- Christine Bongard, IAMCP WIT Chair
